We are a group of local Galwegians who decided to get together to write, shoot, design and publish an online magazine in 48 Hours.

The brainchild of local photographer Reg Gordon, the magazine is completely voluntary and non-profit and focuses on the arts scene and other quirky goings on in Galway.

We began the project at 12midnight on Friday night and, everything going to plan, will have the magazine published online tonight by 12.01am.

We have set up a Facebook page with a bit more info on the project as well as pics of our HQ in the city and video updates as we progress through our last 12 hours so take a look here:

We really want to make this a celebration of all that is great about Galway so please spread the word and suggest the page to your friends.

Things are going great so far so check it out at midnight tonight!!

The final publication should include a graffiti facelift of the Una Taaffes building on Shop Street, some guerilla gardening, a look at the arts in the past, present and future, a spotlight on the local music scene, as well as great photoshoots around the city from traders at the Saturday market to high fashion beside the Dominick Street canal, and loads more!

We'd appreciate any feedback so let us know what you think!

Will there be any pics of Nick Nolte or Eddie Murphy down the Spanish Arch?

Sorry to throw a spanner in the works, but with the clocks going forward last night shouldn't it be:
    47 Hours in Galway

The best of luck with it!

Can i ask why you are doing this? Is it for charity? Are you raising money? Or is it some kind of world record or something?

Sounds like a cool idea. However we don't allow these kind of threads so I have to lock this, but not removed as it's not trying to make money.
Galwegians to produce a magazine in forty eight hours
    Galway Advertiser, March 25, 2010.
A team of Galway photographers, writers, and artists will this weekend attempt to put together a magazine from start to finish, in just 48 hours.

The magazine is the brainchild of Galway-based photographer Reg Gordon. Reg and his team will congregate at midnight tomorrow for their first meeting and will work together to have the magazine published by midnight on Saturday on the online publishing website, issuu.com.

“This is just a group of like-minded people coming together with one idea - to have fun and produce a document of a weekend in Galway,” says Reg. “It’s a step away from the usual in so far as it is completely commercial free.

“Everyone is working in an amateur capacity, all doing it for the love of the project. It’s something I just decided to put out there and am incredibly impressed with the response - people have cleared their weekends to be involved.”
