    Hi all,
After an alcohol fueled fight (and only our 2nd fight, both of which have been when we were really drunk), my boyfriend of a few months just told me he wanted to have time apart to think about what he wanted. I am very confused because he just told me the other day how much he loved me and he's never felt this way about anyone. We normally have an amazing relationship and I've never felt so strongly about someone in such a short time.
We talked on the phone the morning after and he said he still loved me and was mad about me, but didn't know if he wanted to be with me and that our fight had made him think twice about us. He also said that he wasn't sure if he'd rather just be single.
I told him that we both needed time to think and we are going to meet up sometime this week. I am not really sure what to do because I love him so much, but I'm not sure if I can be with someone that would break up with me after one fight. I also think this might just be a prelude to him breaking up with me and I don't want to get my hopes up. I'm not even sure if I should meet him. I haven't and won't contact him until he contacts me, so he can have his space. Any advice would be much appreciated!

The piece of your post that I quoted say a lot OP.

Firstly, one fight should not be enough (within reason) to break up a relationship. My bet is that although he said that he loves you, the fact that he is unsure means that his feelings arent as strong as you think they are.

I've seen it plenty of times; for whatever reason, this fight has given him an opportunity to leave the relationship in a blaze of drama, rather than just being calm and honest with you.

I hope i'm wrong for you're sake but ask yourself do you really want to be in a relationship where you may face a break-up talk after every fight?

    Thats unimaginably insecure, at best.

    All the best
