Steel rolling and fabrication

    Hi all

Sorry to come here with this question but I am having problems sourcing a reliable metal fabricator. I'm looking to have some mild steel rolled to (200 cm length x 60 cm diameter). There a couple of small added elements but nothing that the same shop couldn't do. Believe it or not I have emailed my simple specs to about 20 companies here in ROI. 2 have got back to me and they both fizzled out. It seems strange in this economy that folks are turning down easy money. I would hate to have this made in the UK. So does anyone have a mate who can roll steel? I could care less if it's in a barn etc. I'm in the Waterford city area. Sorry for the trouble.

Did you try Ellickson Engineering. They have a fabrication shop in Kilmurray in Waterfor. Not sure if they would do small jobs but as you say, it's a bit foolish to turn down free money.

    WATERFORD (Head Office & Factory)
    Kilmurry, Waterford, Co. Waterford
    Ireland
    Ph: 051 831 500
    Fax: 051 832 907

I'm in Dublin and I'm sure there are plenty of places here who do it but it's a bit far to travel.

I'll give it a try. It doesn't matter where in Ireland I'm willing to pick-up.

Try CIL Precision (http://www.cilprecision.com/) or Schivo (http://www.schivogroup.com/), both local to you.

Thanks everyone. I believe I finally found a reliable fabricator and engineer. What a breath of fresh air to deal with someone who knows the business. If he falls through I will try the other two. BTW the Thomas Coffey in Dungarvan was able to do my work also but I had already made the deal with the other so he was on the ball.

    Thanks
