What does everyone remember of the "Fakes" - was it something you enjoyed or just found offensive and pointless?

i was preety young when they happened and i remember just being confused about diesiel and razor but thinking the undertaker one was cool

Razor and Diesel was terrible. Although I must say looking at the pic, that is a hell of a resemblance to Scott Hall. I remember watching this and JR going on how important this was to wrestling and it bemused me. This was back in the pre-internet days when I had no idea what WCW or Monday night wars were. It took a few years for me to find out the full story.

I quite enjoyed the fake Taker story. I seem to remember it was for Summerslam and they had Lesley Nielson doing some skits for it where he went looking for the real Undertaker. I'd imagine if I saw the match now it would look awful but hey back when I was 9 or whatever it worked on me, hmmmn that makes me no better than the Cena fans...

It depends on a fake-by-fake basis lol.

I thought Die-sel and Razor Ramon (I pronounced them Dye-zel and Raymon) was hilarious! I loved how Vince would JR so much crap over these two because they'd get boo'ed. JR quickly got defensive and would instantly start giving out to the fans because they owned the copyright. It was so damn funny!

I thought Raymon was sh!te but Dyezel was actually really cool. He was jakked and huge; and had a great showing at the RR97. I thought he was going somewhere! Kane got a bit out of shape when he showed up as Kane; knowing how "good" and jakked he looked in early 97.

Fake Taker was an amazing gimmick; and looked great, until you saw him next to the real Taker. Then he just looked like crap. But the gimmick storyline itself I thought was just amazing. I loved how they had "sightings" of the undertaker and brought in Frank Drebin :eek::eek::D:D

"Imposter" Kane was another great gimmick (an obvious re-hash) but i really thought it had potential. I get it was just a tool to market See No Evil but I really thought

1) Have no-one else see the fake Kane; it could all be in kane's head
2) Have everyone assume it's actually Kane because they're never seen together
3) Have the fake kane confront the real Kane
4) Real kane would go to war with the fake Kane
5) eventually have real kane win and they tag
6) Real Kane dresses more like Fake Kane
7) Real Kane burns/kills off Fake Kane and goes around in his oldschool outfit, remasked.

Damn i obviously spent more time marking out to the gimmick lol. It's not like kane has anything better to do. Except torture Rey Mysterio and lose in MITB lol
