Wedding in Spain

    Hi,

    Myself and my partner have to go to a wedding in Leon, in northern Spain at the end of July. We have been told to fly to Madrid and get a bus from there but it is 4+ hours, which we really don't want to do. The flights to Madrid are also quite expensive at the time, so we've looked into flying into Barcelona instead and getting an internal flight to Leon. We haven't been able to find flights any cheaper than €115 each for the internal flight. Can anybody advise us on what is the best and cheapest way of travelling to Leon?

    Thanks in advance.

    I'm afraid they're probably two very different things !

    Have you tried :

    Dub -> Santander with Ryanair

    Santander -> Leon by bus (or hire a car? It's about 3 hours away) ?

    Have you ever thought of taking the train to Leon? The Spanish Rail Network RENFE might do a trip from Madrid or Barcelona to Leon. http://www.renfe.es/horarios/english/index.html

    Pretty sure you can also get a train from the south of France where Ryanair fly to or even a sleeper from Paris !
