    Hi all,

I have an interview on Tuesday & I have my black suit all ready, I just saw the weather & its going to be lashing.. my interview is in near St. Stephen's green and ill have to get there on foot from Pearse station.

My winter coat is cut asymmetrically at the bottom & is a bit last season to be honest. So should I get a big brolly and grin and bear it or get a black mac/trench coat?

If i do get a mac, should i wear it over my suit jacket, or substitute it for my suit jacket?

    Thanks in advance

Whatever coat you wear, wear it over the suit jacket and take it off before you go into the room. It doesn't matter if it's a mac, last season's coat or a mad pink anorak with a furry hood. It's for keeping you and your clothes dry.

There may even be a place for you to leave your coat and brolly so that in the event of torrential rain, you can avoid dripping on their floor.
    Good luck with it.

an over coat is just that . you remove it when you are indoors. how bad would you look dripping and doe eyed in the interview room???
best of luck, head up, firm hand shake and smile.

I wore my yellow pvc oilskin to work last week in the rain with my wellies and changed into my shoes in the office. Everybody said how sensible I was. Two girls wore their own wellies to work the next morning!!!

If you want a nice waterproof mack and don't want to spend a fortune go to Muji in Chatham Street. They have full length macks in black and clear white for €15. Great value.
