This is the chance for people who appreciated the alternative humour of Brendan and the Saturday Night Show to have your say! He was funny and provided a bit of light craic entertainment for a Saturday night! We love you Brendan: please RTE, stop the drab boring crap that we see on the late late and lighten up! Bring Brendan back!

Personally I think he is awful.

When he is interviewing someone, he always seems very conceited and is talking down to them, as opposed to talking with them...

    He's not funny either.

No, he is genuinely an ignorant person and Dave Young, seriously you've been doing that Mandy routine for 4 years now!

For a lot of people, watching the Saturday Night Show is a bit like sneaking a peek at the tabloids......you know you love it, but you cant admit it!

I saw the end of the show last night and saw him singing. Was this a regular thing? Poor singing I thought.

singing wasn't that bad but he scared the bejaysus out of Westlife when he tried to serenade them
tried soo hard to hate O'Connor but for some reason i like the chap, although i have heard he is a bit ignorent in person

Brendan O'Connor is not funny or entertaining - he's arrogant, uses his 'jokes' to have a go at people he disagrees with e.g. Trade Unions and he can't write either. I'm glad that there might be something worth watching on RTE on a Saturday night

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

The show actually grew on me and i kind of like O Connors not so polished approach. For someone not as experienced in such a role, i think he did well.

Then there was last nights show and what a mess, completely disjointed and the childish antics of west life, in particular cian and that buffoon manager Walsh was a pathetic spectacle, sniggering and making childish faces every time the other guest made a comment or tried to speak. What was bizarre was the fact the director of the show seemed to think it was hilarious, allowing the cameras to hone in on these childish antics.

I was amazed Joe Duffy sat there and took it, just bizarre stuff.

This all said, Brendan managed to get some good guests on the show, it will be interesting to see if he returns

Is maith an scáthán súil charad.

I don't understand RTÉ's obsession with Doyle. It seems to me he is only on RTÉ because he as some fame on British TV. He is possibly the worst TV presenter on TV. And RTÉ gave him an abysmal chat show in the mid-2000's where he visited famous people in their homes i.e. The Holiday Show mets Louis Theroux.

As for O'Connor, his monologues were piss poor. Obviously sindo sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.

I wouldn't be surprised if Doyle's show brings back most of the guest that were on O'Connors.

Unfortunately he can write, and he uses his column to come out with complete rubbish like this.

    http://www.independent.ie/opinion/analysis/the-smart-ballsy-guys-are-buying-up-property-right-now-1047118.html
Tell you what, I think I know what I'd be doing if I had money, and if I wasn't already massively over-exposed to the property market by virtue of owning a reasonable home. I'd be buying property. In fact, I might do it anyway. You don't even need money to buy property these days. Imagine if you walked into the bank and said, "Listen, guys. I want to gamble a million on the stock market. I have 100 grand myself, will you guys lend me 900 grand at really low rates and I'll pay you back over 40 years? In fact I won't even pay off the principal, I'll just pay off the interest." They'd laugh you out of it. But substitute gambling on the property market for gambling on the stock market and they'll fall over themselves to give it to you.

This moron already has enough of a platform to spew his rubbish, the last thing this country needs is him having his own weekly chat show.
