Have been looking at these short online courses for teachers that Hibernia College run. There's one in particular called Religions of the World that I'm looking at. Has anyone done one of these online curses before? What are they like?

I did one entitled "Integrating SESE in the classroom" in summer 2008, found it to be a complete and utter waste of time. It promised plenty of tips/resources etc that would be useful in designing schemes of work that help you cover the 3 SESE subjetcs with one topic, but it turned out to be completely useless and way off topic! I was very disappointed with it anyway, and it has put me off ever doing an online one again.

    Thanks a lot. Thats interesting.

How exactly is the course delivered? Is it just videos of lectures or what? Also, it says it takes 20 hours to complete - does it really?

It's delivered through online presentations (a bit like a Powerpoint presentation) so there's a mix of text, audio, video etc. I found it well presented, just wasn't impressed with the content.

They say 20 hours, and I think it times how long you stay logged in for so you have to be on for 20 hours, but u can leave yourself logged in and go have lunch if u want! You also have to leave comments in a forum, and fill in questionnaires as you go along. These are reviewed for assessment.
