    Hi All

I've recently been given the gift of a lot of old judo mats for the club. Some of them need repair, corners are gone a bit, some tears, n seems like someone has screwed them down:confused:
Is there anything good for repairing mats? I'm Thinking of duck tape, or I've seen like a wide version of inuslation tape..any ideas?

    Thanks

    P

Will they be somewhere permanently or will you have to lift them up and put them down all the time?

You can get them totally recovered by upholsterers. For repairs you can use mat repair stuff http://www.foeldeak.com/english/reparaturset_grappling.php?PHPSESSID=b7b42bcace31a5b6ae6e0d695f5e27ff

But the oul duct tape is yer only man. If they were screwed it was probably onto a wall. The tape will come off and wear away which is a bit of a pain but it's cheap and cheerful and you can replace it.

    Brilliant thanks for replys
that mat repair stuff looks good n I will check out cost with upholsters.
unfortunatly they will have to be carted to an outside shed in between use which creates more wear n tear. Still delighted to ave em.

Barry I think it was you that posted info about mats a while ago.I cant seem to find it though...You gave a link to a upholsterer.I think you said if you had to buy again you would not buy them as single mats but go to the upholsterer, buy the foam as a large sheet, then got it covered with one large single mat cover.Something along them lines anyway I think it was..Could you point me towards that message itself or just the info that it had on it..Any help would be great..
    Cheers:)

Aye that was me. I recommended that company to my mate and they quoted about twice the amount of an English company, I think including shipping here.

    Just FYI

There are large number of companies in England doing high density foam cut to size much cheaper than you can buy it in Ireland but some don't post to Ireland, some put a large surcharge on postage but others don't seem too bad. As Barry said even including postage it is still much cheaper.

I'm currently trying to source a cover. Does anyone have any ideas/links?

    Try here,

    http://www.clonmelcovers.ie/leisure.html

They will provide sample of covers pre order.

Check that link I posted for the mat repair stuff. They sell wrestling covers but I'm not sure how much different any heavy PVC would be.
