Hi, I'm thinking of joining Linkedin the business networking site. Could anyone please explain to me how it works and the benefits of same? Is it a usefull network to be a member of and if so why? I see you can have a standard subscription or pay for a premium subscription ... what is the difference between the two?
Thank you in advance to anyone who replies.
    Kind regards,
    Sandyford.

Hi Sandyford and welcome to Boards.ie ! Let me find a better place for your question :)

You can find out about the different account types here

Personally I think that unless you're a senior business person the free account will work just fine. It's a business-oriented social networking site (Facebook for Professionals) where you can vouch for people who you 'trust'.

I just use it to keep in contact with ex-colleagues.

Definitely don't need a premium account imho.

Wrote up a guide to it here recently: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055818600&highlight=linkedin
