Apologies might have this in wrong forum but here goes

I work with a product that requires us to connection via serial port in certain debug modes. This works fine under XP using direct cable connection.

However with vista and windows 7 it looks like microsoft in their wisdom removed serial direct cable connection http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930086/en-us

Now this is a biig problem for me and just wondering if anyone has any suggestions.
Now unfortunately the host OS must be windows (I have to use another application to connect to the product once the direct cable connection is setup)

    Cheers
    Toppy
