    Hi all,

I am currently using 3GS JB 3.0.1 but my phone has got slightly damaged so I want to send it to apple care to get fixed but I obviously cant at the moment cause its JB (warranty breach)

Is there anyway to restore to non JB firmware without updating to 3.1.3 because I want to JB as soon as it comes back frrom repair shop (hoping they fix it and dont just send me a new one but thats another issue altogether)

I was looking into upgrading to a custome 3.1.3 using Sinowbreeze but as far as i can see if i restore on that firmware it will leave me on the official 3.1.3 which is un jailbreakable.

So basically I need to get the JB off my phone, without upgrading to the official 3.1.3 because I want to jailbreak once it comes back from the

Does anyone have any advice on what to do?

I assume you have Cydia? Did you store your SHSH file on sauriks server? i.e. do you see the line "this device has SHSHs on file for iPhone OS 3.1.2" when you start cydia?

If not, you are out of luck I'm afraid. It's a real pain because a lot of people will have no choice but to restore their iPhones to 3.1.3 if it crashes/comes back from warranty repair etc. If you are sending it to Apple for the work, they would likely upgrade it to 3.1.3 anyway, or send you a replacement with it already on it.

    There's no workaround really.

cheers for the response. Yeah I have the shsh file stored on cydia - if I upgrade to the official 3.1.3 can I roll back to the one stored on cydia

I haven't done anything yet (as I said I'm still on 3.0.1) so just looking for options on what to do.

If you want your phone repaired by Apple then you have no option but to restore offically to 3.1.3 to remove your current jb .

Would the repairs be something you could do yourself , the likes of a screen replacement etc are not a difficult as may seem , plenty of vids and suppliers who sell the total solution ( parts , tools etc) for competitive prices.
