Just so i'm not rushing into this thinking i know what im doing i taught i would double check i have it right.

So first of i have the quad lnb on my sky dish (installed with sky+)

I only need one socket to connect multiroom with this cable and connection

Cable on its own - http://yfrog.com/iydsc06173jj
    Cable with F-type connection - http://yfrog.com/j0dsc06180yj

Do i use the same F-type on the lnb end, as i use on the sky box end. This im a little unsure about? :o

I don't need this split type coax unless im installing HD or PLUS, Right?

Also when i bring the coax over the roof to my bedroom in the front, after i come through the wall can i use one of these

Instead or trailing a wire around the room? If i was to do it this way what is the name of the wall box and what type of lead / connection would run from that to the standard box in my room?

Would be very very very greatfull if you could give me some pointer on the parts in bold and if i have got any of the rest wrong please let me know before i start hacking walls apart!

    Cheers lads.

You only need one cable ran from the dish to the room you require if you want a standard box, and the connection at both ends are the same, an F-type fitting as you rightly show in your picture.

When you bring the cable through the wall, dont use any wallbox just wire it directly into the box, you lose a small amount of signal using wall boxes and I hate them personally, unless there is a metal back on the reverse side they wont work anyway. There are 2 types one with a circuit board and one which is metal.

The metal type is the only one that will work, but as I already said you would be better to just wire it straight into the box, you will also require an active phoneline connected to both boxes for a multiroom subscription.

Im curious as to why u are doing the work yourself, if you are upgrading to multiroom the installer will do all the work for you..?

Thanks man that has helped me understand it a lot better. I taught the wall box might interfere with it slightly alright. I won't be using one of them so.

I rang sky and they wanted €100 to install it with a free standard box, no way am i paying that. Taught why not do it myself with the old box left over when we got sky+ done, It seems fairly straight forward and a lot less expensive!

Well it certainly makes sense to do yourself if you have a spare standard box lying around, but be careful as if your box is old and been left lying around a long time it would be better advisable to get a new box in my opinion particulary if your box is an old Grundig box, so I would recommend checking your old box out before you start..

Best of luck with everything and be careful if your not use to working at heights...

ah yeah its all set up ready to be connected its an old Grundig alright. Its been rapped in plastic and packed carefully in the box since we got the new +box. Shes working fine! Sure if theres any problems i'll sting the bro for his old box! (he got HD couple weeks ago) :D

As for heights someone will be gettin sent up the ladder! I don't do heights ha ha ha!!
Saying that though the dish it only as high as the second floor window sils and i can chuck the cable out the attic windows and over the roof instead of having some going up onto the roof itself...

Why not bring the cable through the attic instead of throwing it over the roof which isnt a great method unless its secured, u could maybe bring it down through the ceiling throught the inside of a partition wall or by bringing it down the side of the wall covering it with trunking...
