I'm going to be fixing up alaptop on Tuesday, fitting a WIFI switch and replacing a USB socket.

Would anyone object if I put up pictures and commentary?

Excellent idea, there's a few pictorial how-to's in the Motors forum

That's the sort of idea, a few pictures to show it isn't impossible. Obviously every laptop and repair is different, but the principles hold true.

an excellent idea, it'd be nice to see the methods used and maybe we could have more threads like from simple things such as how to upgrade memory to how to upgrade things like hard drives, partitioning them and reinstalling an OS. i could really see these threads becoming popular as more and more people are getting comfortable with upgrading their laptops!

i suppose a standard method template would be handy, such as

    1. tools required

    2. estimated time to complete

    3. steps taken

    4. issues

    5. conclusion

oh and i suppose a standard pic size that we wouldn't have to scroll on a netbook sized screen if you get me? fair annoying sometimes to have to scroll around a pic just to see the relevant detail...

I'll see what I can do, but that's the sort of methodology I had in mind.

I do the odd bit of work for people, so any time I've a job I'll post it up.

As for pictures, I think I'll use a picture hosting service: they allow imbedding of images. Otherwise I'll reduce to small.
