quick question for the guards on here

    Can garda track the details off a northern reg car through there systems in the south. Reason I ask I as the victim off an assault earlier today and they were in a northern car

    oh well thats good news I didnt think they could at least the guard I spoke to didnt think so. So I shall approach my solicitor on monday with the info thanks psni

    Sometimes. They can get a registered owner name and address but this isn't always accurate. For example if it belongs to a traveller the current driver may be very hard to track down now as they tend to move around a lot and drive one anothers cars.

    It can only be done as part of our investigations. Unless you make a written complaint then nothing will be happening. You won't be given the details either.

    Would the details be on my pulse?

    I gave a statement At the side of the road and was told i'd need to come into the station to make a proper statement would that suffice or do I need to write a letter

    You need to go into the station and give the investigating Garda a statement of complaint. I dont know where your going with a letter and solicitors though... :confused:

    Gardai investigate crime, not solicitors, so give him the statement and leave him be to do his job.

    Because I'll b seeking compensation for damage to my car, injurys and a weeks wages and I'll get my solicitor to do this.

    Regards the letter well the last person said I have to give a written complaint

    Your solicitor won't be given any information until the investigation has been completed by the Gardaí. A written complaint involves going to the Gardaí and giving a statement.
