Can anyone give an idea of the amount/type of content on RTE that is blocked up in the North?

I know there's a few things like home & Away that are blocked up there (they should be blocked down here too :D), but what other programmes are not shown?

As above and this seasons Lost. (aLL other seasons were not blocked) Its very rare to come across blocked programmes.

Premier League Highlights (Available on BBC1)
Heineken Cup Rugby Highlights (aVAILABLE on S4c)
Home and Away (Available on Ch5)
    Lost. (Available on Sky1)
    Champions League (ITV1 hd)

    Some other odd sports coverage,

Not being able to get access to the actual programs is bad enough, though in practical terms an inconvenience at worst. It's the principle of blocking an irish service in what's still in physical terms a part of Ireland, that we find irksome to say the least up here in the north.

Losing a few non-essential programmes (that as above you can watch elsewhere anyway) vs having virtually all channels + recording abilities on the EPG, all for less money per month... hmmmmm

    Must look into that....... :)

There are ways around it though, right?

It's an expensive option, especially with the Euro so high against Sterling, but it's an option that many have gone for up here. Hopefully at some point a decent signal from irish DTT will be available, and the Sky sub could be dropped altogether in favour of Freesat.
