I know this is more news but might be worthwhile in the general section for a while.
THE head of the National Ambulance Service has resigned after the uncovering of "discrepancies" of up to €10,000 in relation to HSE funds for petrol over a number of years.

It is understood his resignation is not linked to other allegations ...that he and his wife had been on an all-expenses paid trip to Las Vegas courtesy of Ferno, a company which supplies stretchers for HSE ambulances.

...... Ferno's Irish distributors, amounting to €107,347.70 over three years, showed that Mr McClintock approved two of them totalling €70,459.

.......Previous documents showed that he claimed €64,642 in mileage and subsistence between 2006 and 2007. He claimed €27,543 in overnight expenses in 2007.

He's given a company car, but yet he still finds a way to screw the HSE.

    Nice.

Holiday = Conflict of interest. Shouldn't have even entered the compeitition.

As regards the last bit of your post, he had an unmarked Hyundai Santa Fe with a fuel card as well. Why he should have felt the need to travel in his private Audi Convertible whilst on NAS business baffles all of us in the service.:mad:

I'm sure he "won" the all-expenses paid trip to Vegas indeed. And then personally orders €70k+ worth of product from the very same company he "won" from? Nope, nothing strange there.

Fuel expenses aside, he should have been sacked over that very incident.

You know what... I think you're right...
Sure he did nothing wrong really!
    Maybe he's the victim.
    Yea...
Did you ever wonder why he got the boot so?
