    Hi,
I've been in the market for a car for months now (got more money now though!)
I want the best car I can get for the money.

Cars models I was looking at -

Focus ( around 2004) sport TDCI great car but dated now (its from 1998)
Golf ( " 02) tdi, Dated now, very common, and STILL overpriced!
BMW 320d ( "01) very nice but expensive (and common) engine problems
Vectra ("03) very nice car in hatchback with chrome detailing, dull cabin, and all I can seem to find is 2.0 and 2.2 tdi, -very few 1.9cdti's around. very nice car though!! - http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/1186494
Fiesta ("03) 1.4 tdci, i'd love to find a 1.6tdci! But the main gripe with the fiesta is that i'd get pissed off eventually with the lack of space and lack of power in the 1.4.
Alfa 147 ("04) 1.9jtd, great power (140) nice interior, but couldn't find any facelift models, and might be a bastard to service and get parts.
    Volvo, mazda3 etc

    WOW I am picky!!!!!

I want a high quality car with great reliability good looks and reasonably young.
Any help would be much appreciated, preferably with links to cars for sale.
    Thank you!!!

But it's a manual. A shame to have a big V6 manual really.

lol. The manual is the gearbox of choice for the 3.0 flat six diesel in the E39.

Rover 75 is a better car than most of the ones you mentioned, styling not to everyones (most peoples :D) taste though.

Ah lads... flat 6 and V6.... in a BMW?
Straight 6! Now lets not make that mistake again!
Agreed though, much less trouble ahead with a manual on a torquey car that's almost 10 years old with that mileage.

Just a pity about the tax (€1300 give or take). And insurance might be a bitch as well.

And who thought it wasn't a straight 6 in a 5 series?????????????????? ...jaysus.....

    I wouldn't worry about it :)
When I was selling my diesel 2.5 W124 Merc one chap who viewed it (mech eng lecturer in NUIG no doubt) lifted the bonnet, nodded knowingly and say "6 cylinder", there was clearly 5

When I pointed out the error he then knowingly said "same as engine in the Audi", "dunno I said, they were in the old VW transporter I think"
