    In addition to this thread: http://www.talkgold.com/forum/r264648-.html I want to highlight how Bwin is managing new clients. You have been warned!!

    This is an e-mail I just sent to the customer service:

    ===

    Good morning,

    This week I signed up for an account at Bwin. Uploaded my passport and after it was approved I thought I was all set!
    I transferred 400 euro to my account.

    Finally on Wednesday I managed to place two formula 1 bets. There were some issues while entering the bets so I mailed the Customer service for assistance. I never got a reply on this e-mail. Yesterday I wanted to place more bets but I could not log in . My account was blocked without notice. So I wrote an e-mail to thecustomerservice asking what’s wrong. Again, until now, this e-mail has never been replied.

    In the evening I decided to give you guys a call on 0035 02 00 777 61. I explained the situation and I was informed that my account was blocked because of a ‘typo’ in my birth date. Reopening my account was not possible and I could never use Bwin in the future. Astonished as I was to hear this I wondered what will happen to my 400 euro. I was told that the two formula 1 bets will stand and I could get my other 200 euro’s back through a bank transfer. The customer service agent said he would sent me an e-mail, which I need to reply with my bank account details so bwin could return the money. If I win the standing bets, I can do this again. Until now I did not receive the e-mail the agent was talking about.

    I find it kind of strange that Bwin blockes my account complety without notice while there is plenty of money in, I uploaded my passport (never did this before online), have active bets on etc.

    I hope you can help me because my experience with Bwin until now has been really unpleasant. I am new customer with lots of bet ambitions, have 400 euro in my blocked account, brought a new customer which is now betting for 200 euro and despite all this my account is blocked for a ‘silly’ reason and I cannot manage to get in contact with you or retrieve my money.

    Please advise,
    ===

    Just received an answer, which I find difficuilt to accept.

    =

    bwin does not answer my questions and they are very unpolite.

    here is a prediction what will happen if my standings bets win: no cash out!!
    if I lose, I lose and refunding now is not possible! Way to go bwin!!

    So my message, be very careful and think twice before you bet on bwin!!
    Will keep you updated if they take the time to refund my money.....

    Cheers for that fer ,
    they certainly don't sound like a very accomodating outfit ,
    is this giving of passport info a new thing - I don't like the sound of it at all .

    @tatoo

    You're obliged to hand over an official ID in order to receive your winning payments. It's the first (and last) time I uploaded such a document to an internet party.

    So now Bwin has a copy of my passport and I have to beg to get my 400 euro's back. :confused:

    Again they never informed me about my 'typo' or closing my account. Bwin's Customer service is really disappointing.

    Hope to get my money back...

    Same thing happened to me. The account was immediately shut down for no apparent reason. I had one bet that hadn't been settled yet and they just de-activated it. No word from them. COuld be that they don;t want Irish accounts but i just found it very strange.

    Not just with Irish customers... I live in Holland..

    I am being treated like a criminal after they closed my account without notice, not to mention the zero support I get when mailing or phoning them to get my money back.

    I am feeling sorry already for my friend who signed up because of me and made a bet for 200 euro. :mad: Bwin promised me a referal sign up bonus for me and the invited friend, guess what happend to that... never seen or heard anything ...

    Bwin, stay away from it..

    @myflipflops did they return your money?

    Yes, actually, they voided the bet before closing the account and as soon as i had withdrawn the money, they blocked access to me.

    I never received any correspndance from them at all.

    I had heard bad things about them regarding withdrawals before i set up the account but decided to try them as they are basically the biggest bookmaker in Europe. After this, I believe they are possibly the worst bookmaker in Europe.

    How did he manage that?

    Dunno tbh, he had a credit card, he was a few weeks away from being 18 anyway and they said nothing afaik.

    They should refund all his losing bets aswell if that was the case.

    Update: still no word from Bwin and of course no refund.

    File a complaint on SportsBookReview.com. They have access to the senior customer service people from the major established bookies. They will also argue the case on your behalf. Give them as much detail as possible.

    Don't think so.
    Nobody under 18 would be able to get a credit card even they were weeks/day/hours away from being 18.
    Reason is debts are not legally enforceable for under 18's.
    This is why you must be 18 to apply for a credit card.
    I'd guess the only way around this, is to have a parent who would guarantee your debts.

    Not necessarily, You can get a 3v voucher from 16 onwards, which appears to an internet merchant as a normal visa
