Cmon guys, speak up, am stuck behind a firewall in work and can't go to any 'gaming' sites..

Players are really adapting to the maps.. which I still don't know the names of yet, but theres a small 2 player space map and one protoss guy very cleverly walled off a tight gap outside the second expansion and I couldn't scout in to have a look.. I tried to sacrifice some overlords to have a look but he got them before they saw anything.. he veered two air units over .. so I presumed he was definitely going air.. I absolutely mass pumped hydras, and expanded fast, a queen each hatchery, kept chipping away at his 'wall' but damn the forge building has a lot of hp. Anyway I figured I was just about ready for anything he could have.. and then this absolute mass of zealots and high templars poured out.. I tried to dance the hydras away from the storms but damn they are so sickenly slow even on creep.. moral of the story? don't let protoss build up, harass the crap out of them

Against terran I still get such a kick using a mass of banelings and zerglings upgraded with speed.. I should probably try and micro the attack, but force attack behind the wall of barracks, etc seems to work well.. I never have any idea When to actually attack.. whats the timing of the push.. but I just generally wait till baneling speed comes in..

Great to be able to watch replays and see the APM.. finding out how horribly low mine actually is.. anyone else loving this game? jesus I have to physically force myself off the PC to stop playing game after game

Its great fun. Patch 6 seems to have helped me vs toss. Not sure how my viking harass of guardians will work but always seemed to be short on gas so it should.

Add me for some 1v1 or 2v2 if you like

vs. a protoss who walls off with a forge your best bet is to expand and go for mutas asap, mutas/speedlings mix are really hard for protoss to beat till they get storm at which time you're kinda screwed

seen people using banelings to take out supply depots terran use to block their choke recently to really great effect, blow the choke run in with speedlings & surround their infantry

Harass, harass, harass. From the first moment you can there should be small units disrupting gathering and attacking the backs on the bases wrecking havoc and cripple their attempts to upgrade as you go up the tech tree.

    So far.. playing as Zerg..

v Protoss - scout his base, if theres just one gateway and he is teching towards voidray I go hydras otherwise its all roaches or roaches/speedlings, if it goes beyond midgame I am generally ****ed, collosus/immortal or dark templar/high templar just destroy me

v Zerg - Whoever can produce and micromanage the largest amount of roaches, if he tries to go air, just get hydras (although top players find that super amount of +1 speedlings can beat the roach onslaught, its too much micro for me to handle)

v Terran - trickier, but a big zergling/baneling rush to smash his wall.. then keep him under pressure while tech to mutalisks

I'm playing protoss and high templar pretty much annihilate everything zerg has once they're out. One decent counter I've seen used though is massing lots of roaches with the hive regen upgrade, but you'll need a good few corruptors for his colossi cause they'll still rape your roaches. That or trying to snipe them with mutas before they can get good storms off on your ground swarm. DTs shouldn't really be much of a problem, unless the toss has a massive surplus of gas the fact that they're spending it on DTs and not HT/colossi is giving you an advantage. Adequate scouting and a couple of overseers counters them easy.

Brood Lords are pretty sick against protoss too in the lategame seeing as how the broodlings mess up unit ai so badly they need to focus fire everything. That combined with protoss horrible anti-air.

Having never played Starcraft myself until only last week I am beginnning to anticipate Starcraft 2 greatly.

However as I'm a newbie I would appreciate as much info on strategy as possible. Does anyone have any links to some online references etc??

Its not a major departure from the original, intentionally i would imagine.
Control tweaks, unit tweaks, new units, etc.....the usual stuff

The beta key is about 30 or 40 euros on ebay now, still good value considering you'll get at least 6 weeks of solid play out of it.
