What I want to know is if I have missed any good job websites? I have been searching the following websites daily :
    www.dole.ie
    www.fas.ie
    www.indeed.ie
    www.jobs.ie
    www.irishjobs.ie
    www.jobisjob.ie

I am looking for a job in any of the following counties Cork/Galway/Waterford/Tipp or KK. I have been reading the job section in the Irish independent on thurs. Do you know what local papers or radio stations have jobs in them ?

Thanks in advance for you help ;)

Some sectors have specific job sites. What kind of job are you looking for ideally?

    Hi Mood,

Ideally I would like a HR, but they are hard to come by. I have retail management/ admin and catering experience, I would like to work in any of these areas again.

Get onto LinkedIn and join relevant groups. Get onto twitter and create your own personal stream of free information on specific roles in your area.

Get the CV done well and onto Monster.

Identify the companies you want to work for, find out the relevant hiring manager, establish their email and contact them!

Most importantly, create a project with timelines and actions, stick to it and you'll be flying!

    Hi GwayGal

A problem I've noticed at the moment is there are a lot of people applying for jobs they are not qualified for. As a result, many employers are not concentrating as much on each application as they're expecting them to be a waste of time.

So you need to write a really good cover letter which proves you have the relevant experience/skills with each application. This will make you stand out from the crowd.

    Best of luck.

Also, would you do a business development job in Kilkenny?

I believe 70% of jobs filled are never advertised. You should get the golden pages or something similar. Look for companies you think you could work for with the skills you have. Then put together a speculation letter and apply for possible jobs in those companies.Ask them to look at your work history and skills, If by chance they are considering advertising a vacancy soon your CV will be in the right place.

Thanks everyone for the advice. It has been very helpful.

AARRRGH Thanks for the advice, that job requires two yrs exp, so I did not apply for it. I would have applied if I had the exp.

I'd have a read though "What color is your parachute".
Silly title but very good book on job hunting.
I'd recommend asking friends and family about jobs , and getting them to keep an ear out for you.
