I ordered some stuff from CRC last Friday. The order is still showing as "processing" so I tried phoning them - all afternoon. I must have phoned 10 times, but just kept getting a message to say "all our operators are busy, please phone back later". Seems a bit strange, no?

I recently had a very long wait for some stuff from CRC, but I think it may have been a postal issue.

Were all the items in stock when you ordered?

FWIW, they are quite quick at responding to emails. Just include the order number and they should sort it out.

In my experience it usually says 'processing' even after the items arrive
and once or twice even after that

they are usually quick with delivery but as dirk said if its not in stock it can take a while

I suspect they sometimes have stock arriving "imminently" and hold the full order back until it arrives (I have experienced situations when they say something is in stock when it isn't)

I ordered 3 items (late) on Tuesday evening, and received an e-mail confirming despatch first thing this morning. It should get here in the morning. I have also had situations when orders have arrived when still showing as processing on their website

I ordered stuff on the 17th - water bottles, tubes etc - still not arrived.

Ordered a bike rack yesterday and it arrived today via GLS...

Has to be postal delays or something

i've had 5 day delivery times from parcel force's next day delivery recently.....

in general though if it goes out of stock between order/shipping it tends to add a 1/2 day delay in my experience before they email you about it/can fix it...

in recent orders i had 1 shipped by royal mail on monday arrive yesterday, GLS shipped yesterday arrived today....

Yeah, I've always had great service from them, this delay is unusual - it's weird that they're not answering the phones too.

I ordered something last Friday and it arrived Tuesday. I also bought a pair of oakleys in February, which arrived a couple of days later but it still says "Processing" under the status (Hopefully they'll send another pair)

I got this one day but I held on the phone and ended up in the normal queue after half a minute.

Are all CRC orders handled by GLS regardless of size or does an post deal with smaller deliveries?

My faith has been restored! Just got through to them on the phone & one small item is out of stock, so they're shipping the rest today, very helpful & apologetic.

    Really?
Was it a stock issue or a delivery issue?
    What date were they shipped?

they have an 'automatic calculation' system(their phrase) for figuring out which one to use normally, though you can select gls for 5e extra on ones which will be posted. normally bulky or high value items will go gls, it used to be 70e orders plus but thats changed now alas, and a few times of late their system has broken, ordering page tells me it will go gls and then it does royal mail(complained about this, said they'll fix it..)

    Got this on Monday

    Thank you for your email.

We are very sorry for the delay in processing your order. We have been experiencing unusually high order volumes over the past week or two and as a result a few orders have been misplaced within the warehouse. We have sent out to the warehouse to find out why yours has not been posted yet. As soon as we can find out what has happened we will contact you to let you know.

Hopefully the order will be posted out shortly.

Again we apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.

    Kind Regards,

Never have any problems. My order has always been processed in less than 24 hours and arrives through my door the following day. This week I ordered on sunday night and it arrived on tuesday morning. All this is via Royal Mail of course. Maybe they are quicker than An Post!

A track pump I ordered from them broke last night, so I emailed them straight away. Their warranty department replied to me this morning asking for photos and they've already decided to send me out a new one without returning the faulty one. So I don't have any complaints about CRC! :D

Never had any problems myself up 'til now, deliveries usually arrive within 2-3 days.
My delivery which was shipped last friday arrived today courtesy of an post (not gls)

All my deliveries over the last few weeks have been a bit slow. They are the worlds largest online bike retailer I suppose and it is reasonable to assume they may be taking on more business than they can deal with right now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,314 ✭✭✭Nietzschean

they had a phase like this was it last aug/sept or so where lots of deliveries took uncharacteristically long with the same reasoning from them...still faster than most other retailers, they are a victim of their own normal efficiency :)

I blame the flood sale, that really seemed to send them into the big time. I used to think they were a quaint little online retailer before then.

Has anyone ever gone through their "order history"? It's nauseating to say the least.

I placed my very first order last Saturday (20.3.10) with CRC and it was processed on the Monday 22nd, arrived safely in Dublin on Tuesday 23rd.

I am still rocking back & forth sucking my thumb wearing my nappy with delight of receiving my purchases! Just placed another online order this lunchtime.

    Hang on in there niggas!
