    I wonder if you were a bit hasty? Not saying that they were valuable but they may have been worth bringing in to a ceramics dealer for a valuation. Possibly Victorian but Majolica type pottery doesn't excite me so I don't know much about it. Here are two links that may help or further confuse. Perhaps somebody is going to find treasure at your local charity shop - who knows. :D

    Not that old maybe and certainly not beautiful but Italian rather than English. Still would have had them in for a valuation before giving away. :)
