    Folks,

I have a webcam which has inbuilt speaker which is great except for when I am in public and want to do a skype call, if I get a microphone headset will that override the inbuilt speaker in the camera once I plug headset into laptop?

    Thanks.

Yes, assuming that you set Skype to use the headset rather than the laptop's internal microphone & speakers

    Whats the make and model?
    What OS?
Is there a sliding shutter or a physical enable disable switch ?
    Have you googled the problem?

    If Windows.....
Does it show up in Device Manager?
If you open a graphics program (e.g. MSPaint if you have nothing else)is 'From Scanner or Camera' grayed out on the File menu ?

    more information is better !
