The bitter secrets of cocoa production

I watched the Panorama investigation on the problem of human trafficking and child slave labour in the chocolate industry. It was quite shocking. I had no idea my favourite food was hiding these bitter secrets. Even Fairtrade farms are not immune but at least action is taken when standards are breached.
Makes me sad for humanity that something as seemingly innocent as the production of chocolate is mired in human rights abuses.

This is an issue for Humanities, perhaps, but certainly not here.
