Wes Hoolahan the best player in League 1.

Don't think many who watch him will argue with that.

also - how is Alan Smith playing these days - last I saw of him he'd been converted from a mediocre striker into an even more mediocre midfielder and hadn't scored for literally years.

Apart from that great goal he scored in Uniteds 7-1 against Roma, he hasn't scored since 2005.

Smith started off this season in great form, peters out a bit later on, playin gin MF now, never up front

In general though, cant see wht Best is there, nor can i understand how Andy Carroll does not feature

The list didn't specify Championship players.

That's a pretty poor list IMO

Lack of Andy Carroll, Billy Sharp and Jay Simpson.

    And Dorrans>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Nolan.

Read the post he was referring to again. ;)

Scott Carson should be a bit higher up IMO.

Was wondering how that list can not have 2 Argentinian internationals yet have an Irish under 21 international with only 30 games under his belt?

It stinks of them wanting to have a a spread of clubs rather then the entire Newky first eleven in it tbh.

Like every list posted on the internet its a bit sh*t.

Also, David Wheater at 28? Thought he was much better than that

Bit odd that Billy Sharp (on loan from Sheff Utd to Doncaster), who is a proven Championship striker is not on the list, and that Beckford who's never even played in the Championship is at no 3!! Also odd that Forest's Dexter Blackstock is not in there or Sheff Utd's Michael Tonge. Loan players should also be allowed in the list, they are afterall, playing in the Football League!

Oh, and another one that should be in there is West Brom's Slovenian international Robert Koren.

I had to read the list a couple of times because i was sure i had missed his name. I know you cant take these lists too seriously but he's a glaring omission considering League 1 and League 2 players are ahead of him on it.

His scoring rate year in year out is enough to have him up top of that list...

Yep, i thought the same myself, a rather glaring omission! I've noticed something about the list though: with the exception of Jonas Olsson and Kasper Schmeichel, every other player was born in Britain/Ireland. The list does seem to be incredibly biased towards home grown players.

    Kisnorbo is Australian born.

But its all well and good that he has the scoring record but he gets about 6 easy chances on his toe a game and scores 1. Gary Doherty could do that.

Beckford No.3? Myself and my Leeds supporting mates loled at that.
