In Lanzorote,(Peurto del Carmen) meals are relatively cheap depending on were you go, you could get a two coursemeal for about €25 upwards. Went to an all you can eat(chineese) most evenings best value for money. Beer is the same price over there if not dearer. Taxi's are dirt cheap and dont drink wine :P If you end going to lanzorate theres a lot of promotions going on and staff try and drag you in, just ignore them, some are actually good value and others once they get you they rip you off. So be careful

hi and thanks for your reply, oh i hate being haggled, i was in turkey kusadasi it was a lovelly place but oh my god if you walk through the markets it was a nightmare being haggled every second sometimes you would get 5 people haggle you at once and thats no joke, you walk by a shop and one guy would say top of the morning to you in an irish accent, then he would say to the next guy alright mate in an english accent, they know where you are from by looking at you lol

Its grand during the day you get the odd person trying to sell you a camera or that, at night there everywhere, trying to drag you in to nightclubs. Funniest was some african dude started speaking irish to us, it was hilarious. I think he knew more irish than me!! But you can aways get away from this by heading to the old town(5min walk) of Puerto del Carmen and its nice and quite.

Anyway just to let you know, you'd want about 800-900 with you for a week in Lanzarote, if you want to do trips and Water activites, which is a must!

Stayed at the 4* Los Jameos Playa Hotel in Lanzarote, twice, Heaven. They really look after you. All you can eat buffet :D, but 4* quality. It is facing the beach, situated in between the Airport( No airport noise) and Porto del Carmen new town.

Taxi's are very cheap. Very short journey from airport, 10 mins to the Los Jameos, 15 mins to Porto del Carmen new town, 20 mins Porto del Carmen old town.
We didn't bother waiting for the bus, just got our bags, checked out with the Rep, got a taxi and we were in the hotel in 10 mins.

My Parents prefer the Algarve, but the Airport transfer times are a lot longer.
