Why was ECW Cancelled

Could someone explain to me why the watered down version of 'ECW' was recently cancelled on American TV and whether it will be picked up by anyone else? Also, could I ask, what happened to Mr Perfect in 2002, when he left the WWE for the last time about 6 months before his death....why did they release him at that time?…

Could someone explain to me why the watered down version of 'ECW' was recently cancelled on American TV and whether it will be picked up by anyone else?

Also, could I ask, what happened to Mr Perfect in 2002, when he left the WWE for the last time about 6 months before his death....why did they release him at that time? His last match was apparently in the UK against Goldust...a dark match....does anyone know if this is available anywhere?
