Was Just down in Tesco there earlier the only reason i went is because they have french bread stick for 1 euro, anyways i caught the eye of some special offer choclate and bars wich were quiet cheap. So off i go to the till and low and behold it wasnt the price that was advertised on the shelf:eek: your one on the till was there saying she could not do anything and at hearing this i went:mad: i said i want a supervisor right now, when she came i told her the story and then i saw a sign saying the no quibble guarantee and said to her i expect these to be free so, paid for them first then went to customer service and got my money back:D.
So beautiful im now enjoying some nice biscuts and choclate that i got free from Tesco. So fellow boardies have ye ever took advantage of the Tesco no quibble Guarantee?

I couldn't find a pack of Quibbles anywhere in Tesco yesterday so I think they're true to their word on this one.

I had to get 2 booster seat for my young lads. britax price 19.99 wicked i thought i would get them. arrived at till 24.99 i paid walked up to customer services and got they gave me my money back. i saved 40€. not bad.

I did however learn my mistake. about 2 months before that happened i bought a pack of sausage rolls on offer 2 for 1 however at till i was not given 2 for 1 offer and questioned it and they gave me the 2 for 1 offer and did not give me my money back in full because sale had not been completed and cash handed over.

so when in tesco's pay and question later.

Always worth checking your receipt from Tesco straight away, they will completely refund anything that didn't get the right discount/price applied...handy

Oh Christ I was wondering what thread I recognised his name from!!!
Australia doesn't deserve Jonjo. In these times of Papal scandals, the people of Ireland need a new man of God to look up to!

Oh Jonjo, your Tesco sstories are always a delight.

But they always make me wonder why you keep going there

NEVER EVER dispute it until after you have paid.

If you say it at the till they'll just reduce the price to whatever it says.

If you go to customer service desk after having paid they'll give you a full refund and you keep the product.

Learned to exploit that whileworking there ;)

1 euro french bread sticks apparently :p

I go for the €3 CDs and then never play them.

Also, there's a really cute polish girl who works the tills on Parnell St.

Always so polite, smiles with eye contact and rubs her nipples while winking at me.

Does Tesco Ireland operate the same "Double the Difference" system that Tesco UK does?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 95 ✭✭__________

Yeah in fairness to tesco they don't have any problem giving money back when you are charged the wrong price. It happened to me just a few days ago, was buying a 2 for €5 deal, and was charged about €6.50 for the 2 items (the deal wasn't put through) I queried it only wanting the €1.50 back but they gave me the whole €6.50 back!

I think tesco have to do this because their tills are always screwing up.

Amazing the amount of people who dont know this, and as far as i know, this is not just a Tesco thing.

If you buy something and pay more than the shelf price, you are entitled to the full price of that item back, not just the difference between shelf price and the price you paid....someone might be able to confirm that for other shops?

Definitely the case with Tesco anyway, ive used it. :D And passed the information on to others disputing prices at the till. ;)

It's definitely not law anyway, just down to the discretion of the individual shops/chains.

there is no obligation to give all money back AND free product. most places will just give back difference or refund money in full but keep product.

Tesco give money back and free product, no obligation under law to do this though

That's because it's not the law.
Tesco also accept returns on their clothes if you decide you don't want them. That isn't law either, that's a courtesy Tesco offer.

Actually, I find his threads more interesting than most of the threads that turn up in after hours. Also, I very much relate to how he sees the world!

I took the baby and the burst condom back to Tesco and tried the No Quibble Guarantee and they would not give me a free box of condoms and the cheek of them; they also said no to free lifetime supply of pampers.

I'm using tayto packets in future, they worked in my fathers time..... oh wait:eek:

Yeah, I was in a Quinnsworth a few years ago, saw two prices on the beer, bought a case of it, they charged me the higher price, went to Customer Services and told them about the lower displayed price and before you could say cuteculchiebollocks I had a case of beer for free.
