    I certainly hope not. :(
I haven't had a game in 6 years, and even then that was in New York. I knew that there was tournaments and the likes, but they were always far away from me (Majestic Longfordia) so I couldn't actually attend, I knew no one in Longford who played. Only did I find someone yesterday, a friend in Dublin, who plays. I thought that there might be more players on boards... To be honest, I was disappointed with how few there seem to be. :'/

I'm hoping someone will correct me and tell me I'm completely wrong for this all, as I *do* hope to find a lively Magic community here! I'm going to check out a place near Jervis, hopefully they'll awaken me to it, if boards can't. :P

sadly you pretty clsoe to the reality there.there isn't really a magic/tcg scene in ireland. With gamers world near the jervis centre being probably the "capital" if you will, but no real community to it at all.

yeh theres really not too many around. you'll usually get around 10 people to Gamers World for the usual FNM, and they have no problem about you going in and messing around during the day if you're looking for a place to play. tournaments tend to have a lot more people, we had 28 for national qualifiers on saturday.

    Hi lads,

I'm a MTG player in north Roscommon. I have a couple of mates in Carrick-on-Shannon who also play. If your near Carrick and interested in a game, then drop me a PM.

    Cheers

Magic is fairly quiet in Ireland.
Yu-Gi-Oh! is still the most popular TCG here.

I'd have to disagree, I could be wrong but there are weekly events in a lot of locations in Dublin and the DCI has ~500 active irish members.

I've heard almost nothing about yugioh with regards organised play[I tried to get one going,I don't play but just to do it justice]

Magic is still at about 500? Not bad :)
YGO's at about 250 now, but down here in Munster it's all about YGo and less about Magic. Perhaps we should post up a new thread with locations for YGO and MTG events? Maybe that will get more people in the doors.

I just posted some events on the Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/MTG-Ireland/131002406927110), but I don't mind where it's posted, as long as it's posted.

The event that seemed interesting to me is the GPT in Gamers World (Dublin) on the 24:th of July.

I'm just getting back into Magic myself after about 5-6 years of not having anyone to play with. I hope to make it to the Conclave in Limerick next month as I live nearby but realistically how many people would be playing in the tournament? I also spotted the Sunday tournament is an "Elder Dragon Highlander" style which I have absolutely no clue about! Is there still an Irish championship each year or is that dead?

Is this what you are asking for?

This isn't really related to the level of magic players around the country but maybe this sub section of the forum (Games>Strategy) isn't the best place for this? I only found here by searching "Magic", I couldn't find anything else related by regular browsing.

It would be nice if this subsection would be located in Games > Tradable Card Games.

I was just browsing this forum as you do...or not...ha but it just seems that a website for Magic Ireland wouldnt be displaced. You know maybe a forum, links to this one, places to play in Ireland, info on upcoming events. Basically unite all the players to chat and such.
I could make a simple one with all these under a free domain for now. Just need to know about interest? Like it only takes 4 or 5 people to start up a site like this. Word of mouth and all that.

[EDIT] And Moderators on this forum will get moderation on the site if it goes ahead and they want to go on it.
