Just wondering if there is poker in Longford. I'm fairly green to Poker but wouldn't mind playing a bit more. Don't want anything too pro + serious.

Theres a game every Thursday in The Kings Club (opposite P.V.'s) its a €20+€5 scalp with 1 rebuy and/or top up for €20 each. (normally gets 25 to 40 runners)
Game starts at 8.30pm, $5,000 starting stack and 1st rebuy, $8,000 top up or 2nd rebuy. 15 minute clock. Average prize-pool is €1,500

    OK. This sounds good.

Is payment of the scalp optional? Scalp allows you to rebuy if you are knocked out? How is the prize pool divided normally.

    Thanks for the response.

Scalps are not optional, its a fiver a head and every time you knock a player out you take their scalp chip (every scalp is worth €5) the rebuy and top up are both optional.
Prize-pool is 1 in 6 get paid so going by last nights example:
    29 players, 21 rebuys, 28 add-ons. Top 5 paid
Total prize pool €1,420 (plus €50 towards the €10,000 league final)
    1st: €600
    2nd: €350
    3rd: €150
    4th: €100
    5th: €75
    Total scalps €145
Game starts around 8.45pm and normally finishes around 2am
Hope to see you there some Thursday
    Mick
P.S. Free snacks and drinks (tea, coffee, soft drinks) provided all night
