    Isn't this typical!

Over the past 2 days all the bits for my testing have arrived

My Digiair meter turned up on Monday (lovely bit of kit!)
The Group A and Group B 15dBi Antiference Yagi's turned up yesterday.
I already have Triax 24dB Group A and B masthead amps.
Even got my bearings for Arfon, Preseli, Llandona and BlaenPlwyf!

Now all I need is the weather to sort itself out! I'm not getting up on my folks roof when it's wet

Should have some good quantitative data results with the help of my meter, should make interesting reading (when I eventually get started!).

The plan is (after the testing) to leave the aerial with the best signal up so that they get the full Freeview package assuming Preseli doesn't suffer from CCI with Mt. Leinster. BTW Preseli is what they had previously on analogue.

    Llandona 147km
    Arfon 132km
    BlaenPlwyf 157km
    Preseli 153km

GTG, we look forward to your results. I think it will benefit everyone on the boards to get some data that can be compared.

There are a lot of variables at such distances, so make sure all your aerial connections are secure and double checked etc. And good luck!

Yes, best of luck. Looking forward to hear how you get on. The rain has now cleared here in Wexford!

Thanks, I've already wired up the amps and ran a cable out of them, the cables are 1 metre length each, as both aerials and amps are the same makes it should give fairly consistent and comparable results, all testing will be done on the same day and the amps will be powered by my meter.

My meter has this very nifty 'Spectrum mode' where it sweeps the full set of channels ever 2 seconds and displays the signal strength of each, this should make it very easy to peak each aerial and compare individual channel strength for each transmitter. I see a dataport on the back of the meter too but haven't seen any reference to how to connect /use it, would be nice to log it all onto a laptop for analysis later.
