I've been doing a bit of looking to pick up a SWB commerical pajero for the farm at home, shared between myself and the dad. We'd mainly use it for driving in the fields and lugging around some light tools and cargo (not large stuff), for example lawnmowers and chainsaws and bit of turf and timber etc. in more comfort than the old tractor. It'll be garaged when not in use and really only be out at weekends doing < 5000 miles per year.

I want change from 10K (including VAT.). We want something clean/decent that we'll hopefully get years from.

I see there are a good few 3.2l mitsubishi pajeros autos knocking about from 03/04/05 era that seam to be coming in around that. I have no problem chancing private... as we normally buy and sell our cars privately and have done ok.

What do you reckon about these? I see they all have drive selector so are not permanent 4wd.

I also see from other threads to watch out for clutchs burning out if they have done serious pulling - is there similar concern for an auto? I have no experience of automatics at all.

Is there any other models we should be considering? Suzuki Grand vitara? We have already decided that the Landcruiser is too pricey altogether.
