This doesn't appear to be on the website, but I got a flyer in the door for a "Non food clearance sale" to take place at the Lidl distribution centre in the Lough Sheever corporate park Mullingar this Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday 11am-6pm.

I will scan the flyer and post it this afternoon but it mentions HDMI digital sat receiver half price @ €30 (available Sunday only)

Also mentions "Customer returns" all QC checked Multimedia Car Radio was €69.99 now €19.99 and 19" LCD Monitor was €129.99 now €49.99

Also claims "100's of items slashed in price" items are colour coded with stickers and priced at 50c, €1, €2, €5, €10, €15, €20, €30.

    Might be worth a look.....

I assume this is the just a hoard of weekly special offer stuff that didn't get sold?

I suppose if you missed out on a big one it might be worth it.

ooooh , won't mind picking up a Car Stereo for €20 and a Satelite Receiver for €30 if they available at Nangor Road ... can somebody confirm if the same offers are available there ?

Maybe it is happening everywhere? They would all have returns wouldn't they?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,506 ✭✭✭dowtchaboy

ALDI sometimes do this too - and they use the nearest branch to their distribution centre (Charleville I think) - so it won't be in every store.

Guarantees still apply - "customer returns" just mean the box might be tatty and you might find the instruction book is missing or something, but both of these German companies take the Law seriously so if it does not work they will refund you no quibble.

They get a lot of stuff back - you know - all those people who buy the sat receiver and then take it back 'cos it doesn't get Sky Sport and stuff.
You'll definitely get a bargain - just be sure it was something you NEEDed!:)

I just rang Lidl customer service and they said it's only on in the Mullingar Warehouse.

Might be worth ringing Nangor Road. I was up there earlier and there was a large truck offloading stuff into one of the empty units beside the store, so it might be for the sale. I forgot to ask at the checkout.

Just a heads up. This was done in carlow recently and ques were unreal. Got there about 9ish and about 70 people ahead of me as it operated from a marquee outside on a system where only x amount of people could be in at once so ended up one in when one leaves. Get there very early or bring a breakie roll!

Took a photo of the leaflet, hope it's ok.

was there at Nangor at 8.50, the queue was around the corner and into the car park.
first thing, they should have banned trollies, as idiots cannot control trollies.

secondly there wasnt much on offer that was of interest. ( for me )

i think tomorrow might be better, i think it is in the second part of the building.

there were many people going in with trollies and going out the other end with nothing in them.
luckily you have to pay for the trollies as there would have been many of them abandoned around the place.

Friend picked up the goalposts in the listowel store, when he got to the till it scanned at the price on the leaflet so it looks like if you find these items in any of the stores then you get the reduced price.

Just back from Mullingar, there was loads of stuff there but mainly items you see left sitting in the stores for ages. There was a good few satellite boxes there when I arrived but only about 15 when I left so they seemed to be selling quickly. There was also loads of the small satellite dish set (the camping set) for 30 euro. The boxes seemed a bit shabby so they were probably returns when people realised they couldn't pick up the stations! But still you were getting the receiver box.

Went to the warehouse sale in Santry opposite IKEA today - picked up 2x 22" TFT monitors for €79 each.

Great deal. Using them now, good quality + 3 year warranty.
