Benefits/Disability/Rent

    Hi,

Hopefully someone can help me out here.

I have been home for over a year now. I am unable to work due to an ongoing illness and I have been living at my parents. Other people live in the home and it has gotten to the point now where it is just too much, on top of which one of my parents has Alzheimer.

Up till now I have not claimed any benefits because my stamps ran out years ago as I lived away from home for a time. When I came back to Ireland I couldn't claim unemployment because I wasn't fit for work and I couldn't get anything with the Doc Cert thing as my stamps had run out.

Moving on. I am now at a point to where I have to move out for my sanity and health but I have no income. With my situation, is there anything I could apply for, like a disability pension/benefit and or some rent supplements? Would it go against me that I have been home now for sometime and haven't claimed anything?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the response. I guess the next thing to do is call/visit one of their offices.

I just hate going to these places "clueless" lol, that is why I posted on here.
