PS3 Problem

    Hi all,

    I've played a few ps2 games on my ps3 for years...mainly rugby 08.

However recently it's stopped working. I can get sound on my tv but I get "Unsupoorted signal".

I've changed absolutely no settings at all.

    Any ideas?

(i've posted in playstation forum but no joy)

Did you update the firmware of the ps3 recently?

    I would have done yes.

    Should I not have? :(

The newer PS3s that you buy now don't allow you to play PS2 games like the older PS3s did (like yours). They say this was to tighten "security vulnerabilities". I'm guessing here but the last firmware update may have have had this effect on your ps3; disabling the feature on your PS3 that allowed you to play the PS2 games.

Again, I'm completely open to correction here.

    jamie, this might help.

with the console on, hold down the power button on the ps3 until it beeps a few times.. it will reboot, and then give you an option for what it thinks is the best display settings.. press ok and it should work..
