I've heard some renovations are going on within and that they are going to be running a steakhouse and it should be soon enough. I'm not sure of name change though.

went there last night. i'd say the only money spent on this place was the statue out the front. food bland and tasteless. Kitchen door left open. a girl started shouting at other customers and wasn't thrown out. girlfriend was actually scared. the only good thing was the music. one of the worst dining experiences i've ever had.

Is it just a restaraunt now or is the bar/nightclub still open?

its unfortunate that you felt your food was bland. the open kitchen door is done on porpose (a kitchen with nothing to hide). i am a friend of Judge Roy Beans on FB just check out the wall comments about the food and efforts of the new owners. these comments are a clear vote of confidence http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?ref=profile&id=100000830465176#!/profile.php?ref=profile&id=100000830465176 .

I work in Judge Roy Beans in Newbridge and was actually working on the night that is being commented on and I would like to sincerly appologise for anything that upset you that night. The kitchen door is left open so that our customers can see that our kitchen has nothing to hide, if you found the food unsatisfactory I appologise as does our kitchen staff, although I am quite surprised as we have heard only good things so far. If the complaint had of been made on the night about the lady that was being disruptive I'm sure something would have been done sooner, it was I that made sure all tables we're not being disrupted by her behaviour and I did not receive a complaint, as it was she was escorted from the building and has thankfully not returned. The staff in Judge Roy Beans strive to make our customers feel welcomed, secure and above all ensure that they enjoy every aspect of their time there.

Just ate there today, huge portions and good quality. Home made nachos not shop bought crap. Staff very friendly. There was a good crowd there. I hope it does well.

Have to say i liked the food, decor is exactly the same though.Thought it was good value with kids main courses free with the adult ones.
It seems to have gotten rid of the type of crowd that got the whitewater its bad reputation in the first place.

Pity the pool table is gone mind.

Well I wish ye the best of luck because newbridge needs more of a variety of good places to eat. I'm afraid though on this occassion the woman in question was very disruptive and a customer should not have to complain when it was clearly obvious she was ruining other peoples experience by her behaviour. Proactive management would deal with the situation rather than leaving it up to customers to complain. As for the food this is mine and my girlfriends opinion, every one to there own.

Well - I must have ate at an entirely different Judge Roy Beans from most of the people on this thread as I was there on Saturday and the service was laughable. Firstly we had to go looking for someone to serve us as we were totally ignored for a good 15 minutes, the waitress (I am actually not too sure if she did actually work there as she looked confused the whole time) did not know what the soup of the day or the roast of the day was, didn't bring water that we asked for, was totally unfamiliar with the menu - it was just a disaster. And it wasn't just us - the people on the tables beside us were getting the same disasterous service (someone had asked for no onion on their dinner and the plate came full of onion and they had to send it back). When the food did arrive it was drier than a desert (I had ordered the chicken fillet burger), good job they had given coldslaw on the side as I wouldn't have been able to eat it otherwise, and I also got charged for the childrens dinners even though kids are supposed to eat free with paying adults. All in all I wouldn't go back and would certainly not recommend it. There was also a critic sitting near us (I am presuming he was a critic as he had ordered 3 dinners and was sampling each) who witnessed the whole thing so hopefully Judge Roy Beans will take note and take action.

I ate there recently and was very unimpressed I have to say as was my girlfriend.
Chicken & bacon nachos, had no bacon in it at all. The nachos are actually tortilla fried/ or baked though, which is good as opposed to the packet of doritos you normally get in places.

I'm not a salad person but my other half is and she said a Caesar salad has bacon in it, which hers didn't. Dunno if that's true or not but that's what she said.

The cheese "steak" Quesadillas was bland. In Tex/ Mex food you normally get strips of steak, it had what appeared to be just slices of roast beef from a carvery put in.

The waitress was friendly and the portions are big but I certainly won't be eating there again.

Had been looking forward to trying out this place but went there about a week ago and I have to say it was possibly the worst meal I've ever had. The burger was dry and totally bland, the side salad consisted of a tiny spoon of coleslaw and a small bit of lettuce. My partners meal was just as bad. I won't be recommending the place to anyone and won't be going back there again.

Well I have to disagree with the last few posts. I went there on Saturday with my boyfriend and had a turly exemplary experience. We were greeted by an extremely friendly waitress as soon as we stepped in the door and were shown to our table within minutes. After we were given the menu the waitress was happy to answer any questions we had. My partner is very particular about his food and the waitress was very helpful and recommended a meal to suit him (something i often have trouble doing!). The food itself was delicious. I ordered the vegetable spring rolls for my starter; they were perfect. They came with a lovely salad with the nicest salad dressing i have ever tasted! I then had the buffalo chicken burger, with a nice helping of chips and salad. The only bad thing about this was I was so full I couldnt finish it..I could have sat there for hours!
Overall, the service was friendly and the food delicious, and of great value (Under 40 euro for one starter, two main courses and two cocktails!).
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone,i had a highly commendable experience.
