Evening invitation (afters) text - what to put on it?

    We've our day invitations sorted, but are not sure of how exactly to put our afters invitations for the guests.

    Has anybody any suggestion how to word it, or is there a general template anywhere we can get it from.

    This is what I'm having on my evening invites, it's the more formal wording.
    Mr & Mrs Joe Bloggs
    request the pleasure of the company of

    (guest name)
    at an evening reception to celebrate
    the marriage of their daughter

    Jane
    to
    Mr Joe Sgglob

    in
    (insert hotel details)

    on (date)
    at (time)

    R.S.V.P. to

    (insert contact details)

    A less formal way would be to have "Joe & Jane request the pleasure of the company of..... at an evening reception to celebrate their marriage" and then have the hotel details etc.

    "We don't like you enough to invite you to the full reception, so make do with some cocktail sausages and a drunken dance" :)

    Seriously though, the above suggestions are good. I think the norm is not to request an RSVP as most evening receptions are casual - you show up or you don't.

    Ya we didn't put an RSVP on the evening invitations as you know yourself, some people come along, some don't

    Oops, forgot to add, we only put our (my and OH's) mobile numbers, on the RSVP for the evening invites, more in case anyone wanted to give us a buzz and ask was it ok to bring a buddy along if they're coming alone. Also some people just like to be able to RSVP even though they don't really have to :) No need to put the full address on though.
