The annual North West 10K (6 ¼ mile) fun run / walk will be held on Sunday May 2nd in Letterkenny.
It is a local event, supporting 4 local charities, and is a great occasion with walkers, joggers, runners of all ages taking part. It has grown steadily over 25 years and is a happy & fun day out, and the sun usually shines..

For anyone interested in taking part, I have attached a training schedule that may help you along. The event is 8 weeks from this Sunday 6th March so plenty of time to prepare.
All you need is the interest, a little enthusiasm & a will to achieve a set goal - and a walking partner or ipod will help too.

There are 2 schedules attached :
one for beginners who might want to walk, or jog part of the way
an intermediate level for those who might hope to jog/run the course.

It is hoped that those interested, walkers & runners, could meet in the Sports Centre each Monday lunchtime at 12.30 to form a ‘10K club’ and set off training together. You’ll easily fit it in to a lunch break.
Please have a think about it, it’s very do-able, and nab a friend or two to partner you. Then do it!

It’s all for a good cause and of course for your own heart health too.

For further info. please contact Helen in the Sports Centre.

    Fair play!

Unfortunately I'm going to be in Dublin that weekend and will miss it.

Good luck with the training :D
