It's never too late to learn ....
but I dont think you could ever be competitive at sucha late start !

I would it compare it to taking your first game of snooker against a fellow 29 year old , who has been playing with dedication for 15 years !
Now, you know HOW to pot the balls , but you just CAN'T do it .
You know how to win , but you havent got the built up skill and experience.

Getting a club to accept you might also be difficult !

    i,m also 29 .
very unfit but a massive boxing enthusiast.
whats the cap on competing at amateur level...is it 35 before you go into a masters class or is that just in US?
have often thought about taking the boxing serious....and now i have the time available to me is this a foolhardy idea ?
so to second Ops original Q is 29 too late?

No 29 is not too late, not every club will take you but some will. It's not a foolhardy idea, nothing but positive, it's a great skill sport. New people tend to be surprised by how much they get out of it and I was myself when I started.

Basically at 29 your never going to become Kenny Egan but you still have plenty of time to learn alot and become a good boxer. Theres a hell of alot to learn and thats a great thing about it cause even when your at it a good while your still learning quickly.

You can fight at 35, I don't know of any competition that will accept you at 36. So to the both of ye's ye should go for it, give it a bash and sure if it's not for you ye can just give it up

If you are in Dublin you can train with the White Collar Boxing Club. If they feel you are ready you can compete on the WHite Collar Boxing cards.

I dont know ..... but I doubt he learned to box aged 29 .

I apologise if I sounded so discouraging , aside from competition it has to be good for your health , confidence and well being .

But there is always the exception to the rule !
Every now and then a special naturally gifted example appears !!
