Widmore??

I was just rewatching the episode recon where sawyer meets widmore and I was thinking that charles widmore has to be fairly old nearly 80 I'd say, because when you think about it sawyer, juliet and john locke met a young widmore in 1954 when they were travelling through time and he was about 19 or 20 give or take a few years so obviously when we see him in the seventies hes around 40 or there abouts so by 2004 he must be 70 something which is old enough but hes fairly fresh looking to be that old?
plus where was widmore during the purge because when that happened widmore hadn't been banished at that stage yet?
anyway just a couple of thoughts.

He left the island immediately after the purge. I don't think he had any role in it. Seems that was all Ben.

He was supposed to be 17 in 1954, so that would make him 70 on the island now. I'm not sure how old Dale actually is - definitely not that old anyway.

The ages are bit all over the place. Emerson is 10 years older than Ben is supposed to be. And Ethan was supposedly in his mid-20s when he died, lol.

Alan Dale is 62, so it's not that much of a stretch!

Plus he's looked around the same age since the mid 80s when he was in Neighbours!
