    Vix,
    NCStar is lower end stuff.

With that said, I have a few Tasco's around the place that are fine for plinking. I wouldn't put good glass on a beater rifle that I use to plink.

Also, I do have an issue with spending more on glass than the rifle.

NCStar - not bad if: the budget is constrained, using inaccurate/cheap ammo, plinking, ... But you will do much better to spend a few € more.

If possible, consider a Burris Fullfield II. They are ten times the scope for probably 2x or 3x the price. Check out Ebay, they go for about €140. You will never regret spending the € on this scope. You may regret spending the € on an NCStar or Tasco within a year or two if you get serious, study the subject, and ask around.

To discuss the topic, more information is required: (1) what do you plan to shoot - paper or game, (2) if game, big or small, (3) what ball park figure would like to spend (tens of €, hundreds of €, or thousands of €), (4) what round do you plan to shoot, (5) how far do you plan to shoot, and (6) how long you have been shooting?

It is always funny how some well intentioned soul will drop line in a thread like this talking about their Zeiss, Schmidt, ... It is kind of like asking for opinions on a Ka and someone asking you if you have considered Ferrari. Well, ...

What you have done is kind of ask about a Ka and I am going to put you into a Mercedes for the price of a Fiesta. I am really hoping that you know your cars right about now. smile.gif

Again, the best value scope out there is the Burris Fullfield II with the ballistic plex.

Can you get to a shop with the two? Many Burris scopes are brighter than the Leupold which cost more. Hold a Burris and NCStar up to the light and you will see the difference. The lower end scopes look as if you are wearing sun glasses.

Now get a Burris and a high end scope. You will not be able to perceive any brightness difference. There may be more bells and whistles, and the more expensive optics will be better. However, you will not be able to tell the difference.

    Slan
