DOE/NCT question

    can someone tell me if a two seater starlet 91 is exempt from these bloody things. when i frist got the car a few years ago i was told it didnt have to have an nct. i even rang the nct crowd and they said it didnt. got stopped by guards and they said nothing about it. now ive been told that it does. have things changed in the last year? havent used it in the last year but tryin to sell it now

    If it is classed as a private vehicle, it needs an NCT. If it is classed as a commercial/goods vehicle then it needs a DOE. There is no in-between I'm afraid.

    yeah its a private vehicle. so why was i told it didnt need it

    In the last year or so car vans have to be either nct'd or doe'd.

    They used to be exempt but thats now gone.
