Made smithereens of my headlamp last night checking the mare for a loose shoe, she had other ideas and sent me arse over teakettle.
I am in the market for a new headlamp and recommendations will be appreciated.
So far I have looked at Cabela's Alaskan Guide, a Black Diamond Icon and Petzl ?.
Durability, pivoting head and ease of use are priorities.

As said above try Dunnes stores or Wooddies for the head lamps or local hardware shop.
    Cheap and cheerful.
Everready do a good one that is bright.
I like the ones that only have an on/off switch and not different options to switch through before it turns off.

THEY HAVE 4 AA'S in the headband but you also get a belt pouch to run it on bigger batterys if you want, well worth the money;)

Petzl are good mid range for around €35. Not much point in spending more than you have to.
