Have just rang in an order for myself...

    The delivery charge is €3

Surely that's the tip taken care of right?

Does anyone tip on top of a delivery charge?

Normally if there's change from what I give i just tell them to keep it! Or if its 13 and i give 20 i tell them to just give me back the fiver! I normally would tip anyways

€3 for a delivery? Jesus. Definately wouldn't tip on top of that.

yeah u gotta tip. them lads earn **** all although €3 is pretty steep to be fair. kinda seems scabby if something is €19 and you expect change!

    When it's 3 quid I wouldn't be giving a tip!

I used to do takeaway deliveries. We had an introductory charge of 1.50 for a few weeks 'cause everywhere else in the town was €2. Eventually we put it up to €1.80 and the amount of people that where whinging saying they were going to go back to their old takeaway was unreal! We were still feckin cheaper and they were moaning and bítching.

Most of my deliveries were regular customers so I left delivery at €1.50 because they'd most likely gimme a tip to the closest €2 but if it was a new customer it was €1.80 because that's what was printed on the menu so they knew that's what the charge would be.

    Earn feck all???

On a busy wknd I'd rake in at least 250-300 euro in tips alone!

Why'd you put in an order for yourself?

I always tip for deliveries. I tipped seven quid once for a chipper delivery and the dude nearly licked my face in gratitude.

I've been told I over-tip though, but it kind of works out in your favour because the better the tipper you are (and they talk about that kind of thing, believe me, I did a brief delivery stint with my friend years ago) the quicker you get your munch and they regularly throw you in extras.

I usually just hand over €20 or €15 or whatever and let them keep the change. Sometimes it's as much as €4. Other times, it's as little as 50c.

For a €7 tip I sincerely hope you had ordered one of everything on the menu

Wasn't far off tbh, had six other vino guzzling girls with me. Wine + drunken girlies + hot delivery dude = big tip apparently?

I would on average tip about 4 - 5 euro though, depending on what the total was, if I was due any change or if I had spare coinage in my purse. Which if I'm ordering on a Sunday evening after a weekend of boozing I most probably will have.

My local chinese use to take a euro back from the drivers. Just to let you know you never actually quite know. if you catch my drift.

The way I figure it is if your going to be that picky what do you think is a fair delivery... and base your tip on that.

I work as a delivery driver. That €3 depends on the distance travelled as the driver provides there own can and petrol, and given a small amout in change and the delivery charge makes up there earnings for the night. So if I dont get a delivery for the night, I walk away with only €30 for 6-7 hours of work.

I want my cup filled six times before I tip ..

    I usually tip €1 but if I'm really hungry, I'll tip €2.

    More grateful.
