I'm looking at buying a Welger round baler for our own silage (~100 acres). Its only a few years old and has done very little work. But would I need to upgrade the tractor in order to work it? I have a JD 6400

What model of Welger is it? The smallest tractor we operate an RP235 with is a 130HP 6 cylinder Deutz and you need all the power chopping silage on hilly ground.

If your planning on chopping it, then 100hp is a little on the low side but it will run it,
