Hi guys the mrs was working a 9 - 6 job or 8 - 5 mon - fri now she was called in to the office to be told one week a month she is going to have to work 7 to half 6 on 4 days of that week.

Can they just change the shift like that or is a long shift like that illegal?

Shift is perfectly legal, shift in shift schedule would be a different story depending on your contract (i.e flexible working hours etc.) but your position could risk redundancy if you don't switch (depending on how hard the company wish to push it).

I reckon this is dunnes tesco or a convience store of sorts, From discussing this before it was legal. You are normally classed as shift and only payed shift if working past 10 at night or sundays.
