Hi all, I am so bored with my hair, I have pretty much had the same style or variations of it for 10 years (shoulder length with a slight layer) and I need a change! I am 30 and my hair is currently home dyed blonde, but thinking of changing to brunette with reddish tones. I know it is hard to judge when you don't know what I look like, but I have included a few styles I like below. I was thinking of getting a choppy short bob with a fringe. I have thinnish hair which is pretty straight (but I do have a slight kink in it)

Problem is, I am a total dunce when it comes to styling my hair, so I need something low maintenance. bascially hoping to pop in a bit of wax, blast with a dryer and hey presto! Would love to hear opinions on the below or maybe some alternative suggestions! Thanks in advance!

I recommend that you book a consultation with a good hairdresser. they will be able to tell you what will suit you.

I've often gone into my hairdressers and told her that I fancy a change & she can do whatever she likes as long as its low maintenance & ill still be able to tie it up.

TBH, if you have a hairdresser that you are good terms with, just ask for their opinion! I got my hair chopped up before Christmas after my hairdresser suggested it. I really didn't think it would suit me but I love it and I've had so many compliments on it.

This is the problem, I don't really have a hairdresser that I trust at the moment, I have had a couple of bad cuts and have kind of flitted between hairdressers. Maybe I should start a new thread on this :).

    I like 1 and 5, 4 looks like a bit like a skanger hairdresser's style

:D I kinda see what you mean! I was leaning towards No. 1 myself, like No 5 too but wonder if it's a bit 'safe'. Now the big question, do the experts here think that this style would be easy to style and manage? As I said in my OP, I am a dunce when it comes to my hair and have only mastered the hair straightener in the last couple of years! :)

I think 4+5 both look great

    My top 3:

    1st: Number 5
    2nd: Number 2
    3rd: Number 1

I don't think 5 looks too "safe", imo it would be the most versatile hairstyle as you could style it in lots of different ways, like funky, smart or even just a casual little ponytail if you wished. You could clip the fringe back, or sweep it to different sides, and you have abit of length to play with this hairstyle aswell-could do a cool "scruffy" style or straighten it to make it look really neat and professional.
I've always heard that what style suits best is largely decided upon by your face shape. Don't think this is always the case though,as there are always exceptions.
