Have a look at these two tests:

got the mp3 one right.

btw, it's unsuitable music for the mp3 test. very tame sounding mix. It's when you have really heavy lows and highs that 128 starts to fall apart.

its difficult to tell the difference between the quality of the 2 tracks because of factors such as the genre, theres no big drums like you get on a dance song.

plus if you play both through a decent sound system instead of pc speakers / headphones i bet you would hear the difference.

It should be easy enough to make one of these, except use a nice dubstep track or something where the difference is more noticeable. Anyone wanna take on the job?

Have done the first test before and got the correct answer - maybe it was luck but I could have sworn I heard a few nasty artefacts in the 128 one

Got 2/3 on the second, missed the first one

I couldn't hear much difference but as someone mentioned on a big fu*k off soundsystem maybe you could notice then.
