    hi guys,
just wondering does anyone own one of the hungarian s+b scopes,I was looking at the fixed 8x56 and they seem a hell of a lot cheaper than the german ones, priced both in england and the hungarian made can be got for £500 while the german made are a cool £997:P.For half the price they seem exremely attracive but are they even a 31st cousin of the germans????
I didnt try any place in Ireland yet, dont think they would be cheaper....
    any info's appreciated as always:D

The plant in hungary that s and b bought in 1992 which produces these scopes has been in business producing optics since 1876, there was a considerable difference in labour cost which causes the price difference and as the parts that are assembled in hungary are the same as the parts assembled in germany the difference could only be down to the skill level of the assembling technicians, thats the way I see it.

I looked at both and there is no discernable difference imo.
